practically every brand invites celebrities to their fashion week shows, but only the savviest of brands know how to turn those celeb arrivals into a true marketing opportunity. Chanel, naturally, is among those smart companies that makes the most of their seasonal shows by turning them into the elegant media events that many designers wish they could pull off. A not-insignificant part of that process is making sure that the celebs show up dressing the part, and Chanel put one of its well-known bags in the hands of essentially every star that made the trip to Paris to attend. Naturally, that caught our interest.
Below, we have a rundown of what the stars (and a couple of the models) carried to the show, and the selections range from the much-anticipated Chanel spring 2013 Lego Clutches to tried-and-true brand classics that you’ll quickly recognize. scope out all the bags below, and check back tomorrow for a roundup of the bags that debuted during the show!
If you’ve done any celeb-spotting at Chanel shows in the past, then you knew Misshapes DJ Leigh Lezark would be present and wearing something from the most recent collection. She was one of the few who got sent one of the covetable Lego clutches.
In fact, Lezark was sent two of the Lego bags – here she is carrying a red version at the Jean Charles de Castelbajac show.
Model Laura Hayden chose a petite silver Chanel small Flap Bag for the show, and her pal (if you recognize her, let us know – I’m at a loss and so was the photographer) carried a Lego clutch.
Jessica Chastain, ever the classic beauty, paired her ensemble with a version of the renowned Chanel Flap Bag.
Model Alice Dellal attended the show with a Chanel young boy Bag on her arm (or around her body, rather). That’s no surprise – she was the face of the young boy line when it debuted.
I don’t think Miroslava Duma’s grasp is Chanel, but I thought I’d include this photo anyway, if only for proof that someone would actually wear the crazy denim skirt-dress from Chanel spring 2013.
After the show ended, the models emerged – here’s Cara Delevigne and Aymeline Valade (I think – I’m not an expert model-spotter) with a big ol’ Chanel classic Flap.
Taiwanese pop star Amber Kuo chose to carry her Chanel classic Flap Bag as a elegant day clutch.
I saved my favorite look for last. Milla Jovovich’s menswear-inspired ensemble is exactly what I think of when I picture an elegant, casual Parisian woman. Her gold Chanel Box grasp isn’t too bad either.
And another angle on Milla, this time without the outerwear. Perfect, right?
