Miami trend report

This past week, I traveled to Miami for a much needed spring break! because I’ve been working around handbags the past several months, I couldn’t help but notice the kinds of bags that women carry around this area.

Growing up and living in Chicago, I’ve typically been accustomed to the trends of the windy City and it’s cooler weather. So, it was interesting to see how the style compares in a completely different climate.

I spent many of my trip around the cities of Miami and Boca Raton. Each time that I’ve been, the wealth and flashiness of the area never goes unnoticed. I practically feel as if it’s encouraged to make bold fashion statements due to the demographic of the area. While neutrals are always timeless, bright and fun colored bags are a staple for the tropical setting.

In Chicago, the majority of women, including myself, typically gravitate toward handbags that are versatile and functional. because the weather is continuously changing, we need to be prepared. and not to mention, having a bag that chooses any outfit year round is such a huge plus.

In Miami, you have a little much more freedom to try out neutral or fun colors at any time of the year. It can be hard at times to rock a bold, bright bag when the weather is freezing or gloomy in Chicago, even though we should!

Small crossbody bags and big totes were the most popular among women around the South Florida region. Of course, this makes sense when you’re surrounded by the beach and only need a few essentials for running around town. With the sunny weather, it’s a lot simpler to stay active so it’s good to have a light weight bag to run around town with.

As for me, I was so thrilled to bring my Cher crossbody in Greenwich on my trip because I knew it’d be ideal for all my vacay activities! having been to Miami numerous times, I’ve realized that having a great small crossbody is essential. From having a boat day to getting drinks at pleased hour, the Cher was the ideal fit. She’s very light and versatile for any occasion.

One thing’s for sure though, writing this makes me wish I never left! Can someone tell Chicago it’s time to start warming up???
